ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a chronic heart disease caused by a violation of the blood supply to the heart muscle to one degree or another due to damage to the coronary vessels that supply blood to the heart muscle. Therefore, coronary heart disease is also called coronary heart disease. The basis of Coronary heart disease is the deposition in the walls of the coronary arteries of atherosclerotic plaques, which narrow the lumen of the vessel. Plaques gradually reduce the lumen of the arteries, which leads to insufficient nutrition of the heart muscle. The process of forming atherosclerotic plaques is called atherosclerosis. The rate of its development is different and depends on many factors. Coronary arteries play a crucial role in the vital activity of the heart muscle. Blood flowing through them brings oxygen and nutrients to all heart cells. If the arteries of the heart are affected by atherosclerosis, then in conditions when there is an increased need for oxygen in the heart muscle (physical or emotional stress), a condition of myocardial ischemia may appear – insufficient supply of blood to the heart muscle. As a result, coronary heart disease can lead to the development of angina pectoris and myocardial infarction. Thus, angina pectoris is not an independent disease, it is a symptom of coronary heart disease. This condition is called “angina pectoris.”

Thus, coronary heart disease is an acute or chronic myocardial disease due to a decrease and cessation of blood flow to the myocardium as a result of damage to the coronary vessels. CHD takes several forms.

  •                Angina pectoris
  •                Myocardial infarction
  •                Chronic heart failure.

WHO classification of coronary heart disease (70s).

  •                Sudden interruption of blood circulation (primary), which occurred before the provision of medical care.
  •                Angina pectoris
  •                MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (IM)
  •                NON-SPECIFIC MANIFESTATIONS are Heart Failure (HF) and Arrhythmias. The development of heart failure suggests the emergence of a new disease — the so-called. Cardiosclerosis, i.e. growths in the heart muscle of connective tissue.
